L'Estocade is a medium to full bodied red wine made from 50% Syrah and 50% Lledoner pelut grapes. Fruit are coming from "El Serrat del roc blanc", a 30-60 year gobelet trained vineyard plot laying on black schists soil.
This wine shows some sour cherries and spicy aromas on the nose. This is a really nice concentrated red with great mild tannins and a great fresh finish.
Grapes are destemmed, foot stomped and then macerated on the skins for 4 to 5 weeks. After pressing juice is transferred to used oak barrels where malolactic fermentation happens naturally. Wine is aged 15 months before bottling.
Alc 13,5% vol, 1300 bottles produced.
